Prince Jozef Poniatowski

1762-1813

Biographies

Prince Jozef Poniatowski was the nephew of King Stanislaw Poniatowski, minister of war and leader of the Polish army, participated in the war of 1792 and in the insurrection of 1794. He aided Kosciuszko and formed a Polish Army Corps. As a commander in Napoleon's army during the battle of Leipzig, he was given the rank of Marshal of France. Died in battle.
