| The Opera and Operetta in
Krakow

| The origins of this institution reach back to the early 19th century, when an old riding school at 48 Lubicz Street was occassionaly used as a concert hall. In the 1930s the interior was remodelled to meet the requirements of a theatrical-concert hall. In 1945 the Municipal Music Theatre was founded. Presently the institution has two independent stages: one for the Opera and another for the
Operetta. The Opera and Operetta ensembles are invited to perform in many places in Poland and
abroad.
